Praying at FAITH
Praying on your own:
It is really helpful, as a new or long standing Christian, to spend a portion of each day in prayer and Bible study. There is no better substitute for nurturing your personal relationship with God. As a Christian, you have been given the power and presence of the Holy Spirit who will help you to pray; and you have been given the authority to pray in Jesus’ Name for yourself and others. We encourage you to have a personal time with the Lord each day.
Prayer with others:
At FAITH, we strongly encourages praying with others and provide opportunities for it in a variety of ways:
Prayers in the Sunday Bulletin ... During worship there is always a time for us to offer prayers together for the needs of the world and of the Church near and far as well as for people by name. The Prayers of the People, as they are called, are fairly specific in their detail and change from week to week. This list is printed in our Sunday bulletins. The most current list can be found at the link above. If you would like yourself or someone else added to these prayers, please drop us a note. People will be left on the list for one month.
Praying with someone on Sunday... A time of individual prayer is available at the back of the at the time of Communion near the end of the service. We would be happy to pray with you for any need or concern you have. This could be physical, emotional or spiritual healing. It could be about finances or marriage. It could be for yourself or for someone you care about. Whatever it may be, we would love to pray with you, and for you, for anything. We promise to hold your prayers in strict confidence.
Our Prayer Chain... Do you have a prayer request or know someone in need of prayer? This is a confidential ministry for urgent needs of anyone, whether a church member or not. Our Prayer Chain members commit to praying for people daily. Most of our requests are for healing, physical, emotional and spiritual. Though it can be for things like God’s help in finding a job or strength to quit smoking. If you have a request please let Colleen know by emailing here.
