Visitor Information

images (20)When we decide to visit a new place, where we know that we may not know many or any of the people there, we can feel anxious.  We wonder if people will be pleased to see us, and we wonder if we will know what or what not to do?  First of all, please be assured that when you visit Faith Church on Sunday morning in the Limoges Pavillion at 45 Des Benevoles, Limoges, Ontario, you will be greeted warmly, you will be given a pamphlet with the order of service and prayers that will be used, and you will be helped in finding a seat.

Usually, on Sunday morning, we have between 20 and 30 people.  The service begins with the pastor welcoming people, leading a short prayer and then we sing together a couple of worship songs.  Before the children are dismissed for their Sunday School class, which will be in a side room at the pavilion, the pastor will address the children with a story or some kind of illustration relating to the biblical theme of the Sunday.

We then hear a bible passage read by one of the church members, followed by a psalm that we read together.  We then sing another worship song, followed by a reading from one of the gospels.  The pastor then preaches a message that helps us understand the gospel and other bible readings of the day so that we can apply the biblical teachings to our own personal lives.  The service then continues with prayers and each Sunday we have communion together, sometimes known as the Eucharist or Lord’s Supper.  Everyone that is baptized regardless of Christian denomination is welcome to receive the communion.  If you have not been baptized, you will be invited to come forward as well to receive a prayer of blessing.  Following the service, we always have a time of fellowship over coffee and snacks.  This is a great time to get to know each other.  People have remarked on how friendly Faith Church is.
